First List of My “Favorite” Skills

WCIYP 2022 has a list of 248 skills as verbs on pages 64-65 – so I’m supposed to list my “main skills” and then from that list, pick my five “favorite skills”

  • List “I have these skills” (not a “comprehensive inventory of the job skills you can claim”!)
    • advising, analyzing, anticipating, classifying, communicating, conceptualizing, consolidating, determining, editing, examining, implementing, influencing, informing, innovating, inspiring, instructing, interviewing, investigating, judging, learning, mediating (21)
    • mentoring, motivating, negotiating, persuading, problem solving, promoting, proofreading, questioning, reading, reasoning, recruiting, representing, researching, resolving, reviewing, selecting, solving, speaking, studying, systematizing, telling, training, troubleshooting, tutoring, understanding, writing (26)
  • List “my (5) favorite skills” list (not including any skills, talents, experiences, backgrounds; learning, knowledge, volunteer activities / what we have accomplished)
    • analyzing, investigating, problem solving, trouble shooting, persuading

So interesting – I would have guessed that “persuading” would have been my most favorite skill but when I think about it, what I really like is the whole process of analyzing and investigating in service of “problem solving” or “troubleshooting” – and then “persuading” is my favorite way that I fix the problem or trouble. Hmmm.
