Flower Exercise: Petal 3, Story 5

I really do have zero stories about fun achievements :(. I think that’s partly because my first inclination is to go with the established flow and not necessarily “think outside of the box”. In college for example, there were plenty of already established student groups and activities available and I didn’t try to create my own student group, for example, or create my own major.

College was a stressful struggle more than it was fun because I did so poorly in my first semester – in chemistry and physics! – that I lost a scholarship (that I didn’t even know that I had earned) of a few thousand dollars and spent the rest of my college years raising my GPA from the gutter.

So my 5th story is the way that I did that, just because it demonstrates my usual approach. First of all, to decide on a major, I read through the directory of majors for prerequisites common to all the majors that I was interested in, and I took those to see how I liked them. When time was running out to declare a major, part of what made my decision easy was the fewer number of classes required to complete my chosen major, but of course, also it was what interested me and a major that I could excel in academically in order to raise my GPA.

So – I do have the next two stories in mind! Which will make the next two days of the blog much easier – no other stories are occurring to me :(. But at least I’m making progress and getting through this exercise!
