One of my traits, persevering, is similar to tenacious, so I’m going to look for another grouping of similar traits for #3. Other similar words to what I have already described are driven and persistent.
I really like the combination of alert and astute, but I think astute is the broader trait. Being alert is “paying full attention” and “keenly aware”, whereas being astute is “someone who is able to think critically and make good decisions, especially in complex or challenging situations”, “having or showing an ability to accurately assess situations or people and turn this to one’s advantage”, “intelligent, perceptive, or quick to understand and learn”, “mentally sharp or clever, having or showing shrewdness and an ability to notice and understand things clearly”, “clever and has good judgment”, and “a formal and flattering adjective for someone with a good head on their shoulders”, something someone has actually told me.
That’s a lot for one word! I think I’ll include in there, therefore, perceptive, smart, decisive, penetrating, competent, effective, practical, rational, realistic, adept (too general, just means skilled) and objective.
There’s not many traits left after that – I think trait #4 would be professional which could include calm, strong, cautious and thorough. I think assertive would go with trait #1 of being independent. I might have to look at traits scored at 7/10 for trait #5! Actually, after looking at the rest of the traits, nothing really resonates, so I might just not even have a trait #5.
Anyway, for trait #3, thinking of what I wrote yesterday, I would say that I’m astute at picking up inconsistencies in people’s arguments and behaviors and and thinking and acting quickly to resolve situations when confronted by people. Is that why I went to law school? Not sure why I’m not practicing then…. 😛
