I came across one item I particularly regret not spending more time on at my previous job – researching the three “best” exemplar stories for the nonprofit cause to illustrate the tragedies, fraud and other collateral damage that our community members went through. Our nonprofit had established members of the community who were already very outspoken and in the media about their stories before my time so their stories were the ones usually featured and discussed but I think it would have been better to do a deeper dive into the stories of other people even if they weren’t willing to be as public about their experiences….
