I forgot how much I learned before I actually started my old job. There was an entire “training” year preceding it that I totally forgot about – I think was my old boss’s way of recruiting team members. It’s so interesting to read those old emails again, knowing what I know now and how much I learned just from my boss, despite our later problems.

It really emphasizes to me how important the people around you are, whether at work or anywhere really. I guess this is the importance of a good mentor – they can save you their years of experience through trouble and teach you what you really need to know in mere sentences. I only reviewed about 15 emails but I found some good ones to take note of.
