Still haven’t finished with September but reading through the next two weeks so far just reminds me what an interesting mix of players there were at my old job. Different types of nonprofits – e.g. those with a human rights approach v. those with a humanitarian approach, government bureaucrats and politicians looking for votes, donors and outsiders getting after different kinds of clout, and reporters needing to file their stories – learning more about all of them was one of the benefits of the job.
