The Real Job Description

The more I read my past work emails in hindsight, the more I realize that the actual job description – what I was really getting paid for – was not what was on paper. When my boss would say things like “We need your administrative talents far more,” I wasn’t really sure what he meant. The goals of the organization were of course as stated, but the real basis for funding my particular job description was really – taking care of the general administration and headaches of the US office – whether it was people, the parent organization’s work or just the physical space, custodial, technical or legal services – so that my boss could get back to doing repairs around his house lol. Ironic that after I got things under control that he was the one to mess the whole situation up, so I expect that my absence left a big, maybe even bigger, hole for him to fill, because I believe that space was sold after I left.
